No its not too late to join Hockey-with alot of hard work and practice and the right attitude You will do great.
Reply:the honest answer is - find another sport - life's passed you by.

try lawn bowling
Reply:It's never too late to join, but you might find that their skill level may be higher than yours since most kids start when they're really young.
Reply:It's certainly not too late..

Most youth programs will place you into a development program first anyway.. and you'd likely play your first season in a Midget house program or B league..

Doesn't mean you can't play travel hockey in the A or AA or even AAA, but more likely, you'll find the B league to your liking, as it's players developing a skill level..

Given you are a brand new player, occaisonally, house programs will allow you to play down a couple of levels for a season in part, so you don't get discouraged.. even tho you are 14, you might play with a Peewee B team (11 and 12) (you are ineligble under USA Hockey Rules to play below your age group in the A, AA or AAA level, you can only play up, but you are permitted in certain circumstances to play down for development purposes in B levels)

Nothing wrong with playing down, and many of them will challenge you to develope.. Bottom line is if you want to do it, do it now.. by the end of your first year, if you work hard, especially on the drills, you can make up alot of ground, and could be ready for high school hockey...

Good Luck and prepare to work your butt off...
Reply:Well, its never to late to join, and hey, you never know anything until you try it, you might be a born natural...and I'm sure with a little practice you will get really good
Reply:It's never too late. My son just got on skates 10 months ago. He is playing on a Squirt B team and is doing great. Practice and get as much ice time as you can. Sometimes coaches on other teams will let you practice with their team if you ask politely and they see you are willing to work hard. Good Luck
Reply:Join and work harder than everyone else.

It's NOT too late!

Trust me.
Reply:no most people dont until high school anyways.
Reply:If you have already been playing roller hockey that is a positive right there. I played roller hockey growing up because my parents could not afford for me to play ice hockey until I was about 14. Once you get adjusted to playing on the ice you will realize that you are not that much further behind the other ice hockey players. By the time I graduated high school I was good enough to play college hockey but decided to work instead. I do however play in adult leagues now that are comprised of ex-pros and college players. Anyway, the answer is NO, it is definitely not too late for you to start. Your body is still adapting and growing and you will be amazed at how quickly you pick things up. You have to remember not to get discouraged in the beginning and continue to work hard throughout. One more thing, don't stop playing roller hockey. It is a great alternative to the ice and an awesome training aid.

Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
