Preserving Stick head For roller hockey?

I play roller hockey and find that my blade wears really quickly. I heard that rubbing candle wax on the bottom of the blade works good with ice hockey but I dont think that would work with roller hockey (or does it??). I dont like putting tape on the bottom of the blade because it causes too much friction. Please help!!! Thanks in advance!!!!!!!

If you%26#039;re playing outside on a rough surface nothing is gonna help you with this problem. Tape will temporarily solve the problem by putting the friction on the tape rather than the blade but regardless you will end up wearing down whatever you put there and it will cause the stick to wear. Kinda sucks but i suggest you just buy some cheap blades that are easily replaceable.

Playing indoor roller hockey doesn%26#039;t cause any damage to stick blades but it%26#039;s obviously more costly. It%26#039;s clearly up to you.
Reply:If outside on a rough surface, you%26#039;re beyond help. If playing inside on sport court or something, put tape on.

If you really want to preserve blades, play ice. The difference is that ice has virtually no friction, while rough concrete has a ton.

The only thing you can do is make something else absorb the friction- that%26#039;s what the tape is.

But really, All I can say is use wood sticks with ABS blades. ABS doesn%26#039;t splinter and crack when it wears down, and they%26#039;re cheap. Or a shaft with ABS blades. Or cheap wood blades. But never composite.

Oh, and with ABS, you can change the curve of any blade by using a heat gun to heat all of the blade, then curving it however the hell you want.
