What is the best age to start skateboarding?

My partner and I are thinking about taking his son who will be 6 in December to Skateboard lessons. As it is only £2.00 membership per year and £2.50 per lesson until he can drop in.

So what do you think is a good age to start?

We would also like to get him on roller blades, would you wait until he can get to grips with skateboarding before we chuck him on to roller blades?

What is the best age to start skateboarding?
Sounds good- he%26#039;s old enough to learn to balance so go for it! I had roller skates (blades weren%26#039;t invented yet) at the age of five, and although I fell over a lot all I got were scrapes and I remember having lots of fun. I also learned to ride a bike (without stabilisers) when I was six. The lessons sound like a bargain too.

Perhaps if you wait for him to have good balance on a skateboard it will make things easier for him when he learns to rollerblade as he%26#039;ll have that more developed sense of balance. Wish him good luck from me!
Reply:matters how far you want your kid to go with it...professional?then start asap
Reply:i don%26#039;t really think it matters what age, but it does matter for children to have their minds polluted with racism, i hope you don%26#039;t share your old fashioned racist views with that boy.
Reply:I started around 5 but got hurt alot.I would reccomend 7 or 8.But its how goos ur son is at skating.

Reply:That%26#039;s a decent age. They make little skateboards for littler kids.
