Every time I see rollerblades, I freeze....?

Let me start from the beginning. I use to rollerblade every day for like 2 hours. One day I went outside and was just standing there on roller blades and fell. I broke my leg and had 2 screws put in my leg almost a year ago. (I was 12 years old at the time. Now I am 13.) I have to have the screws taken out in May.

Everytime I see someone rollerblading I just freeze and stare at the rollerblades. The brake just replays over and over in my head. I am like iin a daze. Is that possible? What do you think is wrong when I see rollerblades. It freaks my friends out. Today my friends dad thought I was sick and hadn't eaten all day when the truth was it was the rollerblades. What is happening. It's is almost like I want to rollerblade but I am sooo... scared. What is happening?

Every time I see rollerblades, I freeze....?
It is called post-traumatic stress syndrome, that's what it sounds like you might have. It happens after something traumatic (like your accident) occurs. It can be triggered by certain things, in your case it is the sight of rollerblades. You should talk to a school counselor or psychologist, maybe talking about the experience will help you get over it.

Good Luck I hope I helped
Reply:This is a post traumatic stress thing. You need to get some counseling for it. Ask your doc to refer you to a counselor that is experienced in this type of thing.
Reply:something similiar happen to me from now on when you see rollerblade just say to your self it cant hurt me.
Reply:Possibly PTSD, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, but I am not sure bout that. You really should do some reserch on relaxation exercises, and breathing, then decide for yourself if you need to talk to a Therapist. But if anything is seriously interfering in your life, or making you sick, you probably should see someone. A good place to start is by telling yourself that this is a NORMAL reaction to a scary situation. You are not crazy, just dealing with something stressful.
