Every time I see rollerblades, I freeze....?
Let me start from the beginning. I use to rollerblade every day for like 2 hours. One day I went outside and was just standing there on roller blades and fell. I broke my leg and had 2 screws put in my leg almost a year ago. (I was 12 years old at the time. Now I am 13.) I have to have the screws taken out in May.
Everytime I see someone rollerblading I just freeze and stare at the rollerblades. The brake just replays over and over in my head. I am like iin a daze. Is that possible? What do you think is wrong when I see rollerblades. It freaks my friends out. Today my friends dad thought I was sick and hadn't eaten all day when the truth was it was the rollerblades. What is happening. It's is almost like I want to rollerblade but I am sooo... scared. What is happening?
PLEASE HELP!? I have a horrible fear of...?
After experiencing something traumatic (and that incident you described definitely sounds traumatic to me) you tend to associate the cause of the incident with that incident. It's completely natural for you to fear what hurt you, and I really don't think you should be worried.
I crashed into a stationary car when I was riding my bike when I was 10 or so, and I scraped some skin off of my back. I was so scared, and refused to ride a bike ever again. Then about a year later, I decided to try again. I was so scared I'd get hurt again, but I didn't. My advice is to wait until YOU think you're ready to rollerblade again. Though you might want to try rollerblading again now, wait a while first... then try again. But since you react badly to rollerblading now, trying now would be a bad idea.
Good luck!
Reply:Hi,
I have the perfect solution to your question, but it requires a little work on your part as does anything that is worth something!! You have to watch a movie called "the secret"!! It will provide some answers directly related to your question here. Its phenominal!! Please please please give it a try. What do you have to lose?
God Bless~~
Reply:ur probly scared of the rollerblades cuz of wat they did to u and u cnt get it out of ur head so wen eva u see roller blades u freeze.
Reply:You are still traumatized buy the event. Go for a mile long walk alone with no distractions and think of the event while walking and the image of the fear in front of you. Your mind will not let the event go. Bilateral movement like walking will help let it go.
Reply:it's normal... you've had a traumatic experience with them. you'll hopefully get over it, but if it's really bothering you, you can see a specialist that will help you get over your fear...
Reply:i used to have a crippling fear of artichoke hearts! heh, it went away over time.
Reply:Girl I have a fear of rollercoaster to, but I had to get over my fear for my self and because my boyfriend is cute and He wanted to ride. Have someone u trust to go on a rollercoaster with. It does not have to the Titan or some big ride, but a medium size rollercoaster. Hold on to that person and have some fun. If you freeze then do not look at the rollercoaster, just think that if you do not get on this rollercoaster someone u love will be go forever.
