How to properly tie rollerblades?
You are probably tying them too tight. I tie mine loose every except up by the ankles.
Reply:I am assuming that this is not the hot spots of blisters being formed. That would be your feet moving inside the skate.

Look really close for anything that is not smooth inside the skate in the area. Apply pressure in case there is something hiding under the liner. Watch that you don't bunch up your socks anywhere.

Most men's socks are designed for up to size 12 feet and will be loose on size 8-9 feet.

Most stores don't carry the smaller sized men's socks but it happens that the larger women's size is equivalent to the smaller men's size.

Local pains are likely from boot shape pushing on parts of the foot.

If it is in the arch area, the footbed's arch may not match your foot's arch. If the mismatch is small, the two can adjust to each other with time but getting a footbed with less arch may be a faster solution. The ultimate of this is to go to a skate or ski specialty store and have them make a custom footbed for you.

It is also possible to use a few lacing tricks to loosen them for parts of the foot.

If you lace a pair of eyelets up along the side instead of crossing, that will loosen that spot.

You can also use multiple sets of laces so you can tighten large sections of the foot independantly.
Reply:do you even need to tie up rollerblades? JK, yeah the only time I had sharp pains in my foot was when I was learning to walk again after I broke my leg...so unless you've broken your leg recently I would venture to guess you are tying your blades too tight. If you need more support use some clear tape (sock tape) around your ankles and area.....hope this helps
Reply:tie the laces together so that you can skate on one rollerblade.
