Losing weight after baby?

I had a baby 6 months ago, my third and final and I still need to lose my baby weight. I am having a really hard time. I have started walking every evening with my husband and in the morning after my son's breakfast and bottle, I put him in the stroller and hike. We go on a really long, and hilly walk. He sleeps and I listen to the 80's on my music thing. I have asked for roller blades for Mother's Day too. I need to lose about 100 pounds, but 70-80 would be a blessing and a miracle. I have also started weight watchers and given up any and all chocolate. I am just feeling so down on myself and impatient. Any advice?/ THanks for reading.

P.S. I have had two c-sections and a regular delivery. The c-sections were emergency's and this last one was a bit traumatic to me and baby but we are both thankfully fine.

Loosing weight postpartum can be difficult. I got a double jogger and ran mostly every day. That burned it off for me. That took about 7 months postpartum. Just the fact that you are getting your excercise is a step in the right direction no matter how frustrating it can be when it seems the scale doesn't move.
Reply:If your hiking everyday and getting your heart rate up, then you should lose weight. make sure to only drink water and keep the sweets to a minumum. the main thing is that you dont stop while your hiking and keep your heart rate up because that is how cardio works. i do a 45 min cardio workout 4-5 times a week and its helping. dont be impatient, it takes time to lose weight. good luck
Reply:sounds like u are REALLY on the right track! i once did the bally's challenge, which was trying to do like biggest loser and win $25K. i did it very seriously.... went to gym 2 1/2 hours a day for 5 weeks and only ate 1200 calories/ day. i didnt have more than 30 lbs to lose, but i lost 17 lbs in 30 days and the frustrating part is that i didnt start seeing weight loss until the end of 2nd week.

try to eat about 1500 calories a day... whatever u like, but when u get to your limit, simply drink no calorie drinks, like hot tea with splenda, or water or the like. if u stay to 1500 a day, as hard as it is the 1st 2 weeks, u WILL lose weight! and that's the healthy way to do it. if u want chocolate or something bad, eat it, but include it in the overall calories. by the biggest loser calorie counter book on amazon used for cheap or something if u need help counting calories. it covers everything and i found one for $5 myself. u will be hungry the 1st 2 weeks, but amazingly your stomach will become used to it. with the exercise u are putting in, it will be IMPOSSible not to take off the pounds pretty quick. week 3 and beyond is when u really start seeing weight loss. weight about twice a week, always in the morning and before u shower or eat. that way, it will be more steady than if u way at end of day. write it down if it helps u keep track. keep doing what u are doing... and give it 30 days to see how u progress. giving up is the easy way out.. staying with it WILL make a happier and more importantly healthier U for U and your family!
Reply:Even if you are a full time mom make sure there is at least half or one hour only for yourself. Join some sporting activity or try to use the bike, go swimming etc. Check on everything you eat. Don't let depression or time factor overpower your desire to lose weight again. Get some old picture of yours enlarged and hang it on the wall. You want to look like your old best self always. Once in a week treat yourself with very small amount of favorite items which you keep away to lose weight. Try to imagine yourself in small size clothes when you are out to get motivated. Note the weight changes every week so you know where you are going. Positive thinking and strong will power will help a lot. Good luck!
Reply:Why the hell do you have to ask your hubby for rollerblades? Take the family credit card and buy them yourself.

How degrading is it that you have to ask for things from your own husband!!! And, mother's day shouldn't be a time to get presents, it's a time to get a cute flower or card just as a reminder that you are a mother and how thankful he is etc.

Anyway, as for your question, you're on the right track. I doubt you do the hike everyday or else you would have seen results by now.. so.. keep it up and do it EVERY DAY. It's that simple.
